  • What are the business hours?
    We are opened 6:00 AM- 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. We are closed on Major Holidays.
  • Where are we located at?
    We are located at 701 South 3rd Avenue Winterset, Iowa. We are conveniently located a block from the Elementary School and half a block from the Madison County Memorial Hospital
  • Do you accept Child Care Assistance?
    Yes, we accept Child Care Assistance. Parents/Guardians are required to fill out and mail in the paperwork or fill out the paper work on the website (hyperlink the pdf and the website portal).   • What trainings are team members required to take?
    Each team member is required to take and keep current trainings in Mandatory Reporter, Universal Training, Essential Child Care Preservice, Passport to Early Childhood Education and receive a minimum of and 22 hours of trainings a year. Full time team members are required to take Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) and an Environment Rating Scale. If a staff member is employed in the Infant Room they are required to take Back to Sleep, Tummy to Play. Each team member will have background checks completed on hire and then every two to four years after.
  • Do you accept drop-ins?
    Yes, the drop-in rate is $75/day. Parents/guardians must call to ensure we have room for their child before bringing them in.
  • What are your rates?
  • Do children go on field trips?
    The Early Preschool Classroom go on field trip…..The Pre-kindergarten Classroom go on field trip…… The School Age Classroom go on field trips throughout the summer. A calendar of events is given to parents/guardians. Fees for these field trips are not included in the tuition cost.
  • What age groups does your child care center provide?
    We serve children from two weeks old to 12 years old.
  • What paperwork is required for my child to attend?
    Parents/guardians will receive enrollment papers via Brightwheel with emergency contacts and approved people to pick up their child and other forms that need filled out before their first day. A physical within the last 12 months and updated immunization certificate is required to be on file at all times.
  • What is our approach to discipline?
    We believe in crating an environment that makes each child successful. We teach each child positive ways to problem solve at their own level. We provide several areas in each classroom for our child to calm down if needed. The child can read a book, do puzzles, play with fidget toys, snuggle with a stuffed animal, or other quiet activities.
  • How do parents communicate with team members?
    We utilize an app called Brightwheel. On this app, parents/guardians and team members can communicate. All meals are documented and for younger children, naps and diapers/pottying is charted there.
  • What supplies will I need to supply for my child?
    Infants need diapers, wipes, extra clothes, formula, and if desired, baby cereal and pureed food. Toddlers need diapers, wipes, and extra clothes. Early Preschoolers need extra clothes and if needed, diapers and wipes. We encourage them to start bringing a backpack daily with the extra set of clothes in it. Pre-Kindergarteners and School Agers need a extra set of clothes in their backpacks that they bring with them daily.
  • When are meals served?
    Breakfast is served at 8:00 AM, lunch is served at 11:00 AM, and afternoon snack is served at 2:30 PM. In the Infant, Toddler and Early Preschool Classrooms, a second afternoon snack is served at 4:30 PM.
  • What type of meals are served?
    We are enrolled in the Child and Adult Care Food Program through the State of Iowa. In this program there are vigorous requirements we abide by to ensure each child is served nutritious, filling foods while here. Team members will sit with children to model proper table manners and safe eating habits.
  • Do you provide transportation for School Age Children?
    We walk the Elementary School Age Children to and from school weather pending. We transport the Middle School Children in a Center Owned Van. Anyone that is transporting children must have their chauffeurs license and have a clean driving record.
  • Do you transport children to other preschools in the area?
    No, we do not transport to or from other preschools. We have a Pre-Kindergarten program that is completed each day with every child in the Pre-Kindergarten Classroom.
